How does it work?
Swallow the Allurion Balloon in a capsule, under the guidance of our doctor without anesthesia or endoscopy. The Balloon is inflated in your stomach, checked using a quick x-ray and you’ll be on your way!
The entire procedure takes approximately 15 minutes. You will also be supported by the Allurion Connected Scale, Health Tracker, and App.
What happens to the Allurion Balloon?
During your Balloon journey, you and our team will focus on your relationship with food, goals and education to help you achieve the best weight-loss results for you, and to set you up for weight loss maintenance after the Balloon has gone. After approximately 16 weeks, the Balloon will naturally deflate and pass through your digestive system.

Steps 1
Simply swallow a capsule containing the deflated balloon, attached to a thin tube.
99.9% of patients are able to swallow the capsule.
Steps 2
A first X-ray is done to ensure the capsule is placed correctly in your stomach.
Steps 3
The doctor uses the catheter to fill the balloon with 550ml of water.
Steps 4
A second X-ray is done to ensure the balloon is filled correctly.
Steps 5
The catheter is gently removed and the placement is complete.
Once your doctor ensures you are comfortable, you may head home.
